Ottagono Music Fest 2023

On 17 September 2023, the beating heart of Mascalucia pulsed to the rhythm of the Ottagono Music Fest, which celebrated a memorable edition in honour of Bar Ottagono's fortieth anniversary.

Founded in 2016, the event has consolidated its role as a key occasion for the community, thanks to its ability to revitalise and showcase the streets of the town centre, turning them into true open-air cultural salons.

The evening, filled with gratitude towards the community that has supported Bar Ottagono for four decades, was expertly hosted by Salvo La Rosa, a highly regarded and well-known figure in Sicilian television and radio. His presence added a touch of professionalism and warmth to the event, linking the various acts and the audience.

The festival saw the young and talented Annalaura Princiotta shine on stage; her voice captured the audience's attention, conveying emotion and freshness. Her performance embodied the vitality of the new generation of Sicilian artists, and her talent was a symbol of the island's continuing musical evolution.

To add a note of lightness and fun, the comedian Giuseppe Castiglia entertained the crowd with his sharp humour and his knack for turning everyday ups and downs into moments of pure comedy. With his stage presence and his jokes, he brought plenty of smiles and laughter.

The high point of the evening was the concert by Mario Venuti, who with his guitar and voice offered an intimate and engaging experience. Venuti, an iconic figure in Italian music, created a unique atmosphere in which every note echoed through the streets of Mascalucia, weaving a harmonious link between the history of the place and his melodies.

The 2023 Ottagono Music Fest was not just an event, but a celebration of Mascalucia's cultural identity, a thank-you to its people and a tribute to the music that unites us.
